It’s fun to see the building progressing and see the results of our team’s hard work. Thanks to Allan Schmaltz, Site Safety Coordinator and Don Iverson, Project Manager, both from Scull Construction Services for accompanying us on the tour and answering all of our questions.

ARC International Welcomes Morgan Duininck as “Cultural Synergist” Fri, 26 Aug 2016 20:01:11 +0000 _DSC6586We are excited to welcome Morgan Duininck as the newest member of the ARC International team! She has taken over the developing role of “Cultural Synergist” as she aims to collaborate with other team members to help ARC International expand and strengthen our business culture and involvement in the community.

Morgan is originally from the East coast, which is where she received her Master’s in Business Administration at Liberty University, as well as her Bachelor’s in Industrial & Systems Engineering. She made the move to the Rapid City area recently, after marrying her college sweetheart.

She is passionate about the sport of lacrosse, along with any way that she can stay physically active. Morgan and her husband, Sam, enjoy finding new avenues in which they can explore God’s beautiful creation here in the Black Hills.

Emily Frost Awarded NCIDQ Certification Wed, 08 Jun 2016 20:46:23 +0000 ARC InIMG_20160415_141011 revisedternational proudly announces that Emily Frost has received her NCIDQ certification!

The rigorous National Council for Interior Design Qualifications exams are the highest qualification in the industry. Focusing on public health, safety, and welfare of the designed environment, these exams are based on NCIDQ’s independent, comprehensive analysis of the profession and the daily practice of interior designers in a range of settings.

Obtaining this certification qualifies Emily as a “Professional Interior Designer” and further strengthens ARC International’s design team. Currently, she is working on the Rapid City Christian Learning Center, Criss Dental, Calvary Christian School Expansion, Black Hills Corp, and several residential projects.

Emily Frost Joins ARC International Creative Team Thu, 23 Jan 2014 23:54:37 +0000 ARC International has added Interior Designer, Emily Frost to it’s staff. Recent growth has led the company to expand it’s team, with the hiring of Emily in order to meet industry demand, strengthen it’s interior design services and to continue to deliver creative solutions to clients.

“Emily is a great addition to the ARC creative team,” says Owner and Principal Architect, Donovan Broberg. “Her experience in creating dynamic, functional designs, as well as her knowledge of the principles of design will greatly benefit our company and our clients.”

Emily is originally from the Rapid City area and we are fortunate to have her bring her talents back to our region.  She has also gained great experience with an internship and two years of interior design work with two other Rapid City based design firms.

Emily strives to bring creativity into a variety of disciplines, including interior design, architecture, project management, programming, marketing, graphic design, and client relations.

She aspires to creatively and thoughtfully designed natural and built environments that positively impact the way we all live, work and play. When she is not designing, she uses her creativity and passion on the volleyball court as a coach for young athletes in Rapid City and an avid teammate in the city’s recreational leagues.

She holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in Interior Design from Colorado State University.

Her parents are Tim and Deb Frost of Rapid City.

ARC International is pleased to announce that Taylor Klinkel and Hannah Schmitz have joined the ARC team as summer interns.

Taylor Klinkel is majoring in Environmental Design at student at Montana State University. She will graduate in the spring of 2014 and plans on attending graduate school. Taylor is interested in sustainable design and its effects throughout the world. She attended a hands on design / build studio in Kenya helping to build straw bale structures in the summer of 2012. She will return to Kenya next year to research sustainable buying and building habits and to conduct post occupancy studies. “I am honored to be a part of the ARC International team,” Taylor said. Her parents are Mike and Danita Klinkel of Spearfish, SD.

Hannah Schmitz was born in Omaha, NE and relocated to Rapid City in 1997. She will be working with Computer Aided Drafting at ARC International. She has had a passion for architecture as long as she can remember. She discovered Computer Aided Drafting at Western Dakota Technical Institute and knew right away that it was the program for her. Hannah will graduate in May, 2014 to achieve an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science and hopes to gain a career as a drafter with ARC International. “I believe I will get an exceptional view into the career I am studying for with this internship,” noted Hannah. “I am fortunate to be a part of the ARC International team and look forward to continuing my experience this summer as a full time intern.”

Congratulations Chris Olney – Rapid City’s Newest Architect!! Fri, 29 Mar 2013 17:51:14 +0000 _DSC5468 Chris Olney is the latest member of the ARC International team to earn his South Dakota architectural license. Chris has more than seven years of professional design experience at ARC. His project experience includes schematics, design development, construction documentation, site development, and project management for clients such as the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center, Custer State Park and South Dakota Department …of Corrections, Candidates must pass seven exams and complete 5,600 IDP hours under a licensed architect to earn their license. The exams cover training in categories such as Programming, Planning & Practice, Site Planning & Design, Building Design & Construction Systems, Schematic Design, Structural Systems, Building Systems, and Construction Documents & Services. The South Dakota Architect Registration Exam evaluates candidate’s knowledge and ability to provide the various services required in the practice of architecture. Dedication of the Black Hills Correctional Transition Center was held in Rapid City on May 22, 2012.  ARC International is architect for the building remodel.
The 55,294-square-foot building can house up to 419 inmates with additional space for drug and alcohol support groups, counseling and classrooms. The main floor of the center includes a dining room and kitchen managed by a professional firm and using inmate workers. The second floor dormitory has 12-bunk open pods with centralized restrooms, telephones and desks.
The new minimum security unit in Rapid City, SD has achieved LEED Silver status. It includes a geothermal heating/cooling system and motion detection lighting system.
